This is a Quality Chess Set of Modern Plastic Chessmen from Drueke in its original box. This is set No 20, which is the authentic american design, modern plastic chessmen, un-weighted. The set includes a full set of white and black un-weighted plastic chess pieces nestled into green cardboard slots. The box is a grey-beige with brown font and the Drueke's logo. William F Drueke & Sons were the first to make wooden chess boards in the United States. They began in 1919 and expanded to include checkers, chess tables, poker chip racks, and cribbage boards.
This set is in great vintage condition for its age and use. The box has general wear to corners and edges with all top and bottom corners attached. The top of the box has all its logos and text. The underside of the box has yellowed with a small square of ripped cardboard. The chess pieces are also in great condition with no missing pieces. The white pieces have yellowed slightly.
The box measures 12 inches long by 5.5 inches wide. It is just under 1.5 inches tall.
