Sally in our Alley Songbook Antique 1889 White & Allen Edition Illustrated by Joseph Lauber

This is an illustrated lyric book for the song Sally in our Alley from 1889, published by White & Allen. It features a blue-gray and brown cover with gold highlights, black lettering, and an illustration of a couple snuggling on the cover. The spine is undecorated. The front and end papers are cream with a repeating pattern of green flowers and leaves. The book is fully illustrated with either brown line drawings or full color illustration plates. The music for the song is included in the last pages. The pages are gilt-edges and unnumbered.

The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The cover has general wear to corners and edges with some discoloration and areas of staining. The gold highlights and black decorations are intact and still bright. The gilt edges are also still bright. The spine has started to separate at the title page. The back cover is still attached. There is an ink inscription in the front pages - Miss Lulu J. Igel A Souvenir of Graduation June 19, 1890. There is a pencil list of addresses in the back pages - 368 E Chiago Ave. 225-231 Dearborn Ave. 337 Chestnut St. The pages have yellowed but the illustrations are still bright.

The book measures 7.5 by 9.25 inches. It is half an inch thick.
