This is the 1968 vintage edition of The King and the Broom Maker, written and illustrated by Jan Balet, published by Delacorte Press. It is a school edition with light blue linen covers and yellow lettering. The inside is fully illustrated in Jan Balet's distinctive style. The pages are unnumbered.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The cover is worn at the edges with fraying at the corners and along the spine. The linen along the top part of the spine at the front cover is torn. There are scratches to the yellow lettering on the front cover. The inside is stamed with property of Troy Public School, and someone wrote 1-Watts in red ink. The spines are attached but wobbly. The pages are still bright with minimal to no yellowing.
The book measures 8 by 11 inches.
