This is a majolica style Italian art pottery vase. It features a Greek or Roman amphora style shape with a round body, a tall flared neck, and two side handles. The rim, handle sides, and bottom foot are painted a gold orange. The rest is a pink beige with embossed figures around the body and swags of olive leaves and fruit on the handles and around the neck. The figures seem to be paying attendance to the central reclining figure on each side. The whole vase is a riot of color with shades of purple, red, blue, brown, green, yellow, and orange. It is all hand-painted but there is no makers marks.
The vase is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The colors are still bright and the glazing shiny. While there are no chips or cracks to the actual vase, there are many chips to paint. These are concentrated on the rim and handles with some to the bodies of the figures. Please see photos!
The vase measures 4 inches in diameter at the base. It is 6 inches wide from handle to handle and about 7 inches tall.
