This is a vintage framed J.L. Prevost print featuring a wildflower bouquet of peonies and irises. The print has a cream background with a loosely gathered bunch of pastel flowers, mostly irises and peonies, in shades of light purple, pink, and yellow. Jean Louis Prevost was a French still-life painter, renowned for his floral drawings and watercolors. This print is framed in a carved wood frame. The frame is carved with a floral design and painted in shades of cream and gold. There is hanging wire on the back.
The print and frame are in good vintage condition for their age and use. The glass is clear with no chips or cracks. The glass is wobbly in the frame, as only three picture nails are remaining to hold in the glass. The others are missing. The frame has chippy paint and the paint is beginning to crack in between the carvings. The frame is still nailed together tightly. The print has yellowed with some foxing but the colors are still lovely. There are two holes to the lower right corner of the print.
The frame measures 9.5 inches across and 11.5 tall. It is about .75 inches thick. The print measures 7.25 inches across by 9.5 inches tall.
