This is the 1930 edition of North of Suez by William McFee, published by Doubleday, Doran, & Company. It features a textured navy blue cover with the book title label on the spine. The title label is beige with blue lettering and small picture of a sailing ship and seagulls. The inside front and back covers have decorated endpapers with an illustration of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding countries as well as man in traditional dress gazing at the map. This is the first edition of this copy. The first 350 books were printed in a De Luxe format according to the copyright page. There are 309 rough-edge pages.
The book is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The cover has a small crack halfway down the front cover on the right side. The bottom right front corner has started to fray, exposing the cardboard underneath. There is some areas of small discoloration to the front and back cover. The spine label has yellowed but is completely intact and firmly attached to the spine. H.P. Bulnee (?) wrote their name in pencil inside the front cover. They also dated the last page 4/18/30. The spines are still attached.
The book measures 5.25 inches by 7.75 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
