This is a tin J. Chein 9 Inch World Globe. It features a dark turquoise octagonal base with a brass collar and a white plastic ruler arm to hold the globe to the base. The two halves of the globe meet at the Equator, which has a raised rim all the way around. The globe features countries in yellow, green, blue, and beige. One of the countries - United Arab Republic - helps date the globe to the late 1950s / early 1960s, as the United Arab Republic was only a country between 1958 and 1961.
The globe is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The globe has general wear with some tiny spots of missing lithography and some scratches, especially around the equator, which has several rust spots. The globe has another large rusty ring around Antarctica where the globe rubs against the base as it spins. The globe does not spin easily, but it does spin. The plastic arm can pop out of the top of the globe if the globe is held by the arm. The brass collar and base have wear with discoloration and tarnishing. The brass collar is still attached but beginning to lift out of the base on one side. All in all, it's got great vintage patina!
The globe measures 9 inches in diameter. It is about 10 inches tall.
