This is a black tin rectangular box with a hinged lid and oval handle. The handle is set on top and lifts up and down, laying flat when not in use. The lid has a two-tier scalloped raised inset with a thick gold painted border outlined in red. The outer rim of the lid is also painted in gold. There is a metal flap on the front in which to insert a lock. All four sides have a thin gold line border around the top and bottom of the sides. The inside is plain black.
The box is dinged up, dented, and scratched in all the best vintage ways. There are scratches all over with some areas missing the black paint showing the silver box underneath. There are some very slight dents to the lid and side of the box. There is no key, but the box is unlocked and the lid opens and closes easily. Please see photos!
The box measures 8.75 inches long by 5.75 inches wide. It is 4.75 inches tall.
