This is a vintage midcentury signed Hale Pua Hawaii painting of a tropical oceanscape. The painting features an airbrushed background of an island cliff with ocean at sunset. In the foreground are big palm tree leaves and a curved palm tree trunk. The painting is done in gorgeous midcentury colors of orange, blue, green, brown, and red. The painting is signed in the bottom corner "Hale Pua Hawaii". From what I can tell, this is potentially a Hale Pua Arts Hawaii painting, with the same signature as other Arts Hawaii paintings. Arts Hawaii was founded by the esteemed artist Frank Oda in 1951 and continued to do airbrushed paintings until 1975.
The painting is in great vintage condition for its age and use. There is minimal fading or discoloration to the painting beside general wear. The painting has one thin inch long gouge to the back of the painting that has pushed the cardboard on the front outward causing a small white scratch. It's not fully ripped through but it's close. The frame has no glass but does have two tacks with twine on the back for hanging hardware.
The frame measure 13.75 inches across by 11.75 inches wide. It is .75 inches deep.
