This is a set of two antique books with tan covers and gold lettering. The set includes the 1909 edition of A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton Porter, published by Grosset & Dunlap. It also includes an undated 1900s edition of Little Foxes by Harriet Beecher Stowe, published by Hurst & Company. Both books have tan covers with decorated covers and spines. Little Foxes also has gold lettering on the spine and a full color portrait cover. It also has a portrait on the spine with flowers, and Girl of the Limberlost also has a flower on the spine. Little Foxes has 223 pages. Girl of the Limberlost has 474 pages. Both have illustrated title pages.
The books are definitely antiques and in fair condition. The covers have major discoloration with wear to corners and edges and some staining. The cover of Little Foxes has major scratches. Both books have very loose or separated covers. Little Foxes has the title page that is separated from the book. Jesse P. Viertel from Booneville, MO wrote their name in the front cover of Limberlost in ink. There are pencil scribbles inside the back cover of Little Foxes. The pages have yellowed in both books.
Limberlost measures 7.75 by just over 5.25 inches. It is about 1.5 inches thick. Little Foxes is 7.5 inches by 5 inches. It is 1.25 inches thick.
