This is an antique undated edition of The Marble Faun: A Romance of Monte Beni by Nathaniel Hawthorne, published by the A.L. Burt Company. It features dark green textured covers with the title and book information lettered in gold on the spine. The spine states that this part of the Cornell Series of A.L. Burt books. This edition has 378 pages. A.L. Burt moved several times, giving us the ability to date their book catalog based on their address. The company was at 52-58 Duane Street, New York from 1899-1914, making this an antique edition.
The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The book has general wear to the corners and edges of the covers with some areas of discoloration. The spine has a small area of discoloration in the center with a dent. The covers are attached, but beginning to crack at the title page. Virginia M. Ballard signed her name on her bookplate that she glued into the inside front cover. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 7.5 inches by 5.25 inches. It is 1.25 inches thick.
