This is a vintage Mary Grey Hosiery promotional box with a Grecian Wedgewood design. The box is a lovely slate blue similar to Wedgewood pottery with an embossed Grecian motif on the lid. The motif is oval with a gold scalloped border. Inside the oval are several Grecian statues, including a small cherub. The box has a hinged lid with silver hinges. The inside of the box is lined with light blue felt on the bottom and cream colored textured silk on the top. The top is also marked Mary Grey Hosiery in blue. There is also an embossed stamp on the back side of the lid with the DeLuxe Craft Chicago logo.
The box is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The box has general wear, especially to corners and edges where the blue cover has started to chip away. Otherwise, there is minimal scratches, stains, or discoloration to the exterior. The inside also has general wear with some small areas of discoloration. The lid opens and closes easily.
The box measures 7.75 inches long by 4.25 inches wide. It is 2 inches tall.
