This is an antique blank recipes book called Recipes: My Friends' and My Own, designed and illustrated by Louise Perrett and published by The Reilly and Britton Co. It features a beige cover with an illustration of a girl in pigtail braids carrying a tray of food with details in green and red. The spine is lettered in black with decorations in red. The pages are tabbed with tabs in black and lettered in gold. There are sections for breads, beverages, soups, fish, eggs, entrees, meats, vegetables, salads, puddings and pastry, custards, jellies, and ices, cakes, the chafing dish, and miscellaneous. The main page for each section is illustrated with details in red. The rest of the pages in the section are blank to add your own recipes. There is an attached red ribbon bookmark.
The book is in great antique condition for its age and use. The covers do have some staining and discoloration, but the illustration and lettering is still intact. The covers are attached. Someone wrote Dec. 25th 1910 inside the front cover in ink. The pages are yellowed, almost brown. There is one glued in recipe in the cakes section for Chocolate Cake, labeled in blue ink, and the reverse page is labeled lemon cloud cake but is blank. The end of the ribbon is frayed. The miscellaneous section has a cut out recipe for Green Tomato Relish tucked in the pages.
The book measures 8.75 by 6.75 inches. It is .75 inches thick.
