This is wood handmade and hand painted shelf cat. The cat is made of a solid wood panel cut in the shape of a cat sitting as if on a shelf with its tailed curled around and one paw and arm hanging down. It is painted a cream color with blue edging and leg and face details. His background is covered with a repeating pattern of small flowers, three small pink dots with a darker center either red or blue. The cat has a Cheshire Cat kind of face with a smiling mouth and big blue eyes. The cat is attached to a wide solid wood block that allows the cat to sit on the edge of a table or shelf. The back has been left unpainted.
The cat is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The wood is solid. There is one edge chip on the bottom of the cat's middle. The paint does have some discoloration to the top of the cat and some small scuff or paint drips in other areas. Oddly, the paint drips are green. The shelf stand is attached firmly.
The cat measures 12.5 inches long and 11 inches high. The stand is 3.5 inches deep.
