This is a round vintage tin for Horton's Miniature Chocolates. The tin is a beige color on the sides with the Horton's information written on the front of the tin. On the top of the lid is a lovely landscape scene with a white Greek style rounded temple next to a lake with swans in dreamy shades of blue, yellow, and green. The inside and bottom of the tin are gold colored metal. This was definitely someone's sewing storage because inside the tin is an instant collection of sewing notions - buttons, buckles, and clasps. The tin is marked Canco on the bottom.
The tin is in good vintage condition for its age and use and definitely has vintage patina. The lid has wear all over with fading, scratches, and rust spots. The rest of the tin has general wear with fading and rusting of the metal. The bottom, sides, and inside of the tin have general wear with some scratches and discoloration. The tin does have a musty smell when opened. The sewing notions are in general wear with some bending of the cardboard backings or missing buttons from the button cards.
The tin measures 10.25 inches in diameter. It is 1.5 inches tall.
