This is the 1936 edition of the Girl Scout Handbook. It features a green cover with the Girl Scout logo and lettering in black. The spine is also lettered in black with the Girl Scout trefoil. The endpapers are decorated with a green silhouette illustration of scouts camping in the wilderness. This edition is the June 1936 Third Impression of the 1933 edition. It is illustrated throughout with black and white illustrations. There are 575 pages.
This edition is in good vintage condition for its age and use. The covers have wear with some discoloration, fading, and staining. Mary Ellen Hines wrote her name and 1938 in ink inside the front cover. There is also a penciled 5 in a circle. The covers are still attached, though cracked slightly at the title page. The pages are yellowed.
The book measures 5.25 by 7.25 inches. It is just over 1 inch thick.
