This is a set of 2 vintage gray and blue children's books. Included in the set are Emmy Lou Her Book Her Heart (1931), written by George Madden Martin and published by Grosset & Dunlap, and The Linger-Nots and the Valley Feud (1923), written by Agnes Miller and published by Cupples & Leon. Both have gray covers with robin's egg blue detailing - a heart on the cover of Emmy Lou and the dresses on the girls on the cover of The Linger-Nots. The spine on Linger-Nots also has blue detailing behind the portrait of the girl. Both books have one illustration plate at the title page, and Emmy Lou has illustrations throughout. Emmy Lou has 279 pages and The Linger-Nots has 210 pages.
Both books are in good vintage condition for their age and use. Both have general wear with fraying to cover corners and edges, as well as some small staining and discoloration to the covers. Emmy Lou has small tear across the top middle of the spine. Their covers are attached in both books. The Linger-Nots has a pencil notation in the front cover Y.4973/.59. Emmy Lou has an ink inscription To Gladys From Cleo Merry Xmas '31 and 34 in a small box. The pages are yellowed.
Both books measure 7.5 by 5.25 inches. They are both 1.25 inches thick.
