This is the 1963 edition of the Larousse Encyclopedia of Byzantine and Medieval Art, published by Prometheus Press with Rene Huyghe, General Editor. It features black covers with gold outline schematic of a cathedral on the front cover. The spine is also lettered in gold. The endpapers are a black and white close up photo of a bas relief sculpture. The book has both black and white as well as full color photographs throughout. There are 416 pages.
The book is in great vintage condition for its age and use. There is minimal wear to the covers, just one scratch that goes through the middle of the front cover and some slight discoloration to the back cover. The spines are attached. The pages have yellowed somewhat but the photographs are still bright.
The book measures 11.5 inches by 9 inches. It is 1.5 inches thick.
