This is a set of 3 vintage songbooks - On Wings of Song (1949), Songs of Praise (1935), and Precious Memories (1941). Precious Memories has a leatherette cloth softcover in a dark olive green with brown and black details. It is a collection of favorite songs of Virgil Stamps, a member of the Stamps Quartet, a popular group in the 1930s. It has unnumbered pages but does have 176 numbered songs. Songs of Praise is a hymnal published by The Lutheran Book Concern. It includes a general Sunday service and has 318 pages. It has a light green cover with black lettering and details. On Wings of Song also has a light green cover with blue and red lettering and details. This one is a school songbook and is possibly the music curriculum taught in overseas military base schools. It is fully illustrated with full color illustrations. There are 192 pages.
The books are in good vintage condition for their age and use. The covers have general wear with some fading and / or discoloration. The covers are all still attached on all three songbooks. The pages have yellowed. Wings of Song has ink inscriptions inside the front cover and on the title page, "Property of Cathcart," "Flint Dist 16", and "24 182 71 149 152". There are also penciled numbers inside the back cover.
Wings of Song measures 9.25 by 7 inches. It is .75 inches thick. Songs of Praise is 9 by 6 inches. It is 1 inch thick. Precious Memories is 7.75 by 5.25 inches. It is half an inch thick.
